Visit to Howsham Mill – Saturday 14th October 2017

Howsham Mill is an 18th Century watermill in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near Malton. It was designed by John Carr of York as an architecturally unique Gothic-style garden folly.  It has more recently been restored as an education centre and as a generator of renewable water-powered energy. We will meet outside the Children’s Play area on Intake Lane at 10.00am for a cycle ride to Howsham Mill led by John Eastwood. Alternatively, directions for travel by car for visiting Howsham Mill, which is 9 miles north-east of York and 3 miles from the A64, can be found  on  http://www.howshammill.org.uk/visit.

We will aim to meet together at the Howsham Mill car park at 11.30am for a guided tour of the Mill. Please bring a packed lunch. We hope to call in at the Balloon Tree cafe at Gate Helmsley for tea on our return journey back to Dunnington.
